Josephine (Josie)’s Obituary Josephine “Josie” Morgel, 86, Bismarck, passed away on February 26, 2019, surrounded by loved ones at St. Vincent’s Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 2, at Church of the Ascension, 1825 S 3rd Street, Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr.

James Braaten and Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm Thursday, February 28, at St. Vincent Care Center, 1021 N. 26th St., Bismarck. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 1, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave. , Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm.

Burial will be held at a later date at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Josephine Isabel Kuntz was born March 19, 1932 to George and Catherine (Feist) Kuntz in Britton, ND. She was baptized, made her first communion and was confirmed at St. Mary’s in Bismarck, ND.

On June 2, 1949, she married Edmund “Ed” Morgel in Hazelton, ND. Josie lived a full life as a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She was a vibrant spirit who made everyone smile.

She loved her family and God whole heartedly. She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, and listening to music. If you ever had the chance to visit with her she would talk about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who brought her never-ending joy.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Kathleen (Kenneth) Mantei, Glyndon, MN, Franklin Morgel, Lincoln, ND, Raymond (Marlene) Morgel, Portal, ND, Bernadine (Calvin) Davis, Minot, ND, George Morgel, Needville, TX, Jocelyn (Ray) Wangler, Bismarck, ND, Thomas (Terri) Morgel, Portal, ND, and Carolyn Morgel, Mandan, ND; her sister, Magdalena (Max) Glass; her 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; two sons, Donald “Don” and Edmund Jr. “Eddie”; two grandchildren, David Davis and Victoria Morgel; her parents; four brothers, Sy, Ed, Joe, and Mike; and three sisters, Wilhelmina, Rose, and Ann.
