OBITUARY Herman Elmer Overbey May 26, 1938 – July 23, 2018 Herman Elmer Overbey, Beech Grove, 80, passed away Monday July 23, 2018. He was born May 26, 1938 in Advance, Missouri to the late Noble Earl and Lydia May (Riggle) Overbey. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Ilene; son, Ricky Overbey; grandson, Christopher Overbey; 7 brothers; and 2 sisters.

He was a long time resident of Beech Grove and worked at Beech Grove Schools for many years after his 26 year career with American Canning. He was also an avid sports fan, especially IU, and was a part of the ABA Pacers practice team. He also enjoyed coaching his children from the bench, stands, and in the yard.

He is survived by his sons, Steve Overbey (Lisa), Rory Harper (Donna), Todd Harper (Sharyl), and Chuck Harper (Kimmie); daughters, Gail Brown, Jeanne Taylor (Roger), Amy Graham, and Eda Stewart (Bill); brother, Lynn Overbey (Janet); sister, Edna “Sis” Collins; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family members and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 10am-12pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St., Beech Grove, Indiana. His Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm with burial at 2 pm in White Lick Friends Cemetery in Mooresville, Indiana.
