OBITUARY Hollis “Blackie” Thornton January 30, 1935 – December 19, 2018 Hollis “Blackie” Thornton, age 83, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. He was a loving family man who enjoyed fishing, sailing and traveling. Blackie was an Electrician who was a member of Local IBEW #716 of Houston, Texas for 59 years.

He was survived by his wife of 36 years, LaVerne Thornton; son, Larry Thornton; daughters, Teresa and Laura; adopted daughter, Alisha; step daughters, Patricia Lemley and husband David and Brenda Hagerman and husband Bill; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandsons. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2018 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven.

Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
