Howard (Howie) James Spaid, Jr., of Mahaffey, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family. Howard was born May 21, 1961 at Miners Hospital in Spangler, PA. He was the son of the late Howard James Spaid, Sr. and Eleanor Rose McMasters.

He was preciously employed by Carlton Pools in Norristown, PA. as a foreman. Howard was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time outdoors with his friends and family.

He attended the LaJose United Methodist Church and loved the Lord. His favorite pasttime was listening to music. He will be remembered for his bright smile and whistling.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Amy (Smith) Spaid of Mahaffey, children; James Spaid and wife Ashley of Northern Cambria and Debbie Spaid of Mahaffey. One granddaughter; Raelynn Grace Spaid and one sister; Marcia Smith of Mahaffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Virginia Marshall and Deborah Spaid.

He was also preceded in death by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and in-law’s. Friends will be received from 11-3 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey where a funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Gary McGarvey officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the LaJose United Methodist Church.
