Obituary for Hugh E Studabaker Hugh E. Studabaker, 94, of Bluffton passed away on Wednesday morning, June 20, 2018, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. Hugh was born on October 19, 1923 in Wells County to Clinton B. & Grace (Warner) Studabaker. He graduated from P.A. Allen High School with the class of 1941.
A lifelong farmer, Hugh also hauled gravel out of the family farm gravel pit for many years. On January 10, 1946, Hugh and Avis (Thomas) were married. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1997.
Survivors include four children: Larry E. (Carol) Studabaker of Bluffton, Walter C. (Heather) Studabaker of Nashville, IN, Michael D. (Jean) Studabaker and Scarlett (Bill) Yaste, both of Bluffton. Hugh was a loving Pappa to 10 grandchildren: Ryan (April) Studabaker, Jarod (Carissa) Studabaker, Skye (Jarrett) Melzer, Christopher (Amy) Studabaker, Matthew (Danielle) Studabaker, Erica Yaste, Alexander (Naomi) Yaste, Lydia Yaste, Thomas (Fiancée’ Morgan Warford) Yaste and Michaela Yaste, along with 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four brothers; Max, Robert, James & Clinton Studabaker and three sisters; Mae Taylor, Alice Schaefer and Betty Zimmerman.
Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 8 on Friday at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton and for 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. A Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 on Saturday (June 23, 2018) at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lederman officiating. Burial will follow at Six Mile Cemetery in Bluffton Memorials: Family Life Care or Friends Who Care Cancer Relief Foundation.
