OBITUARY Hugo Clinton Sims February 11, 1927 – January 9, 2019 Lake Wales- Hugo C Sims, age 91, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019. He was born to Abby and Lucien Sims on February 11, 1927 in Luverne, AL. He was the youngest of 4 sons.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Evelyn Sims and 2nd wife Priscila Sims of 20 years, brothers: Thomas Rae Sims, Albert Sims and Charlie Bryant Sims. He is survived by his daughters: Kathy Sims Davis and Krista Sims Ford, 4 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren. Hugo was a long time Barber and owner of City Barber Shop, partners with his brother Albert.

Hugo changed occupations and became a Registered Real Estate Broker and in partnership with Edgar Hales, Hales and Sims Realty He also wrote books: Jose Gasper the Last Marauder, The Everglades Connection and Country Boy which is an autobiography. He was very active, loved golf and was an avid fisherman. Especially knowledgeable in Everglades City area of the 10,000 islands.

Visitation is Monday, January 14, 2019 from 10-11 am with funeral services at 11:00 am, both at the Parkland Baptist church. Burial to follow in Lakeside Memorial Park.
