Obituary of I. Douglas Brewington I. Douglas Brewington, 64, of Salisbury passed away peacefully at Peninsula Regional Medical Center on March 2, 2019. Born in Salisbury on August 3, 1954, he was the son of Deanna Klempner, who followed him in death the same day, and the late Irvin Franklin Brewington. Doug was a 1974 graduate of James M. Bennett High School.

After graduation, he worked in his grandfather’s plumbing business, Brewington Plumbing, and later at Speakman Plumbing and Wholesale until a life changing motor vehicle accident left him paraplegic. He was a member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge and the Redman Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, nature, photography and hot rods.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, Franklin and Marguerite Shores Brewington, and Samuel and Edna Williams. Left to cherish his memory, Doug is suvived by his partner, Helen Davis and his sister, Marcia Robin Brewington. He is also survived by his uncle Wayne Barbely and wife, Gale; several cousins inculding Try Barbely, Ritchie Lind, Randy Lind, and Michael Lind.

He leaves behind loyal long-time friends, Albert “AJ” and Lola Jones, Bill Crockett, Clem and April Sparks, Joe and Brenda Brinson, and Jackie and Lonnie Ross. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd. , Salisbury, MD 21804.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Elder Wayne Barbely will be officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shad Point Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank April Black and the home care staff of Amedisys who assisted Doug during the past year as well as the staff at PRMC and Coastal Hospice for the care they provided him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doug’s memory to Salisbury Moose Lodge, 833 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804 or the Redmen Lodge, 103 Clyde Avenue, Fruitland, MD 21826. Arrangements are in the care of the Holloway Funeral Home, PA, 501 Snow Hill Rd.
