Ignacio “Naish” Artaiz, 63, of Hamden passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Ava (Santatico) Artaiz. Loving father of Spenser Artaiz of Hamden and Marcus (Shelby) Artaiz of North Haven.

Brother of John (Gina) of Cheshire, James Artaiz (Elizabeth) of Oregon, Victor Artaiz of Madison, and Linda Viglotti (Mark Dove) of Oregon. Brother-in-law of Audrey and Christiaan Dinkeloo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his in-laws, Arthur and Mary Santatico. Naish was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on July 31, 1955. Son of Gilda Artaiz of Wallingford and the late Ignacio Artaiz.

Naish was a 1973 graduate of North Haven High School and graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Architecture. Naish was known for his precision to detail. He was previously employed by several well-known firms such as Roche-Dinkeloo, Carlin Pozzi Associates, and AECOM (formerly Urs Greiner).

Naish was extremely athletic. He enjoyed running and doing Tough Mudders. He also had a passion for playing pool and having won the National Las Vegas.

Naish was truly a jack of all trades. He had a way of making each and every person feel like they were special. His kindness and level-headed spirit will always be remembered by family and friends.

Friends and framily are welcome to pay respects on Thursday, May 30th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Avenue,Hamden, CT. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Devine Mercy Parish (St. Rita Church) 1620 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT.
