Inez Whetstone Waites April 12, 1912 – January 20, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card WAITES, Inez Whetstone, 106, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Heart of Georgia Hospice Care in Perry. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Carolina Cemetery in Weoka, AL with John Brannon and George Sedberry officiating. The family will visit with friends before the service at 10 a.m. at Trinity UMC.

Mrs. Waites was born on April 12, 1912 in Elmore County, AL. She was a longtime faithful and active member of Trinity UMC in Weoka, AL.
She was a Sunday school teacher and also served in other capacities over the years. She graduated from high school in Elmore County, AL. She attended Livingston Normal College, Huntington College, and Auburn University, from which she received her BS Master’s degrees in education.
She was a public school teacher in Elmore County, AL for 27 years. She was a devoted wife and mother. The grandchildren and great grandchildren loved her so much.
They learned so much from her. She was like a walking encyclopedia. Everyone that came in contact with her loved her.
She was a good hearted woman. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Mrs. Waites was preceded in death by her husband, Judson C. Waites, two sisters – Laverne W. Beard and Betty W. Jacobs, sister-in-law Hazel B. Whetstone, daughter-in-law Ruth D. Waites, grandson-in-law Cliff Williams, and an infant granddaughter, Teresa Ruth Waites.
Left to cherish the memories of her are her children, Billy Waites of Macon, GA, Sherrod (Sandy) Waites of Canton, GA, Elwood (Annette) Waites of Perry, GA; grandchildren, Brad Waites of Vancouver, BC, Jud Waites of Woodstock, GA, Keith (Cindy) Waites of Perry, GA, Lynn W. Williams of Macon, GA, Chandley W. (Dennis) Allison of Denton, TX, and Dawn W. (Ross) Kendrick of Sycamore, GA. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Seth Roberts, Judson Williams, Jake Kendrick, Cayden Waites, John Henry Waites, Wils Waites, Chesleigh Waites, and Lily Kendrick, numerous nieces and nephews in Georgia and Alabama; and her brother Walton (Bertha) Whetstone, Weoka, AL. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home of Perry, GA, along with Wetumpka Memorial Funeral Home of Wetumpka, AL, have both been entrusted with the arrangements.
