Ione Mae Vosberg, 92, of Breckenridge, MN, formerly of Wyndmere, ND, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at CHI St. Francis Healthcare Center, under the loving care of the St. Francis Staff, CHI Health at Home Hospice, and her family. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am at Peace Lutheran Church, Barney, ND, with Rev.

Sean Daenzer officiating. Burial will be at Elk Creek Cemetery, Wyndmere. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Ione Mae (Miller) Vosberg was born June 20, 1926 on the family farm in Summit Township, Rural Fairmount, ND, to Harris C. and Inez Mae (Burvee) Miller, the oldest of eight children. Ione grew up on the farm and received her formal education at Fairmount, ND. Ione attended Mayville State Teachers College and taught school at Danton #2, rural Wyndmere.

It was at that time she met Earl “Bud” Vosberg and they were united in marriage on January 25, 1946, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tyler, ND. They actively farmed in Danton Township until retirement in 1982, at which time they moved into Wyndmere. Ione and Bud enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Mesa, AZ where they enjoyed square and round dancing and playing cards with their friends.

Ione was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Weekday School. Ione was a member of the LWML, serving as the District and State Historian for several years. She was also a member of the Danton Homemakers Club.

Ione moved to CHI St. Francis Nursing Home in Breckenridge in October of 2010. Ione is survived by her two sons, Vance (Georgia) Vosberg, Wyndmere and Traill (Dawn) Vosberg, Fergus Falls, MN; her three daughters, Vernette (Maurice) Houck, Covington, LA, Verdelle (Michael) Stinar, Richville, MN, and Gail Gerrich, Fargo, ND; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Miles (Jeanne) Miller, Burnsville, MN, 2 sisters, Maurene Bock, Fargo, Vesta Olderness, Oakes, ND; brother-in-law, Lyle Dethlefson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, Harris & Inez Miller; son, Gordon Vosberg; brother, Eugene Miller, twin brothers, Gordon and Gregory Miller; and her Sister, Vera Dethlefson.
