Irene Fogaroli, 104, of Marquette, died peacefully Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Trillium House in Marquette while under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice. She was born October 8, 1914 in Kiel, Germany, a daughter of the late Ugenio and Anna Ret Castellan and was raised in Italy. She moved to the United States in 1952 and to Battle Creek, MI in 1955.

Irene was employed in various capacities before becoming a self-employed housekeeper, a job she worked at for many… Read More » years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Her interests included gardening, yard work, cooking, reading, writing and listening to opera music.

Irene is survived by a son, Giulio (Dawn) Fogaroli of Marquette; grandson, Nino Romano (Sarah) Fogaroli of Marquette; two great-grandchildren, Lilliana Rina and Nila Marie Fogaroli; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 1975 and two brothers and three sisters. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11 am at St. Louis the King Catholic Church with Rev.

Glenn Theoret and Deacon Scott Jamieson celebrating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Mass in the church. Interment will take place in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek.
