Doris “Irene” Smith Green, age 92, of Lilburn, GA. went home to be with her Lord February 8, 2019. Her funeral will be Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 11 am, with the remains places in state at 10:30 am, in the Lilburn First Baptist Church with Rev.

Greg Shawgo officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Green graduated from Commercial High in 1944.

She worked for Civil Services after graduation. On December 11, 1948, she married William R. Green. She worked as the secretary to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Young Harris College in the 70’s.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Edith Smith of Atlanta, brother, Herman Smith, Jr. of Atlanta and her husband of 65 years, William R. “Bill” Green. She is survived by son Philip and Renee Green, their daughters, Rebekah Green Scheller and Victoria Green Shawgo and their 7 grandchildren, William C. “Chris” and Julie Green and children, Amy Becker and Andrew Green and 4 grandchildren, sister, Joan Self, nieces and nephews.
