Irene Virginia Cole, 95, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas. Irene was born August 18, 1922 in Clendenin, West Virginia to Charles Board and Georgette Shaver Board. She was a resident of Groves for over 60 years and was a member of the United Methodist Temple.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Cole, sisters, Hila Board, Thelma Smith, Ruby Huntt, Iris Ashley and Susan Harper and brothers, Eugene Board, Charles Ober Board, John Board and Ray Board. Survivors include her two sons, Philip W. Cole of Groves, and Jeffrey W. Cole and wife Cathy of Longview; four grandchildren, Amy Cole, Andrew Cole, Austin Cole, and Matthew Cole; one great-grandchild, Carsen Cole. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with Pastor Nathan Baker officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
