Iris Hughes Moore, age 95, of Franklin, OH, died Tuesday March 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Pennington Gap, Virginia on October 27, 1923 to the late John and Ethel (Gilley) Hughes. Iris was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklin for 62 years and the Eastern Star Prosser Chapter #367.

She was employed with Dayton Press for 29 years, for a few years with Springs Crossing and Malachi’s of Springboro. Iris was Mr. Santa’s helper for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jr. Moore, sister, Marylou Emerick and Elizabeth Potter.

Iris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Randy) Smith; son, Jeffrey (June) Moore; grandson, Timothy (Deanna) Williams; four grandchildren, Tori, Tayllor, TJ, and Teagan; two great grandsons, one great great grandson; Josh Moore and Elijah; brother-in-law, Mac Potter; niece, Teresa (Roger) Ross; nephew, Jon Potter. Funeral services are 12:00 pm Saturday March 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church Franklin 16 West Second Franklin, OH with Pastor Clyde Mechanic officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
