Isaiah “Isaac” Allan Johnson, born on January 1st, 2001 reached the abrupt end of his song on September 24th, 2018. Born in the Year of the Dragon, on the very first day of the new millennium, Isaac brought joy, challenges, and artistry to our lives. He loved people, pets, music, drawing, classic cars, good food, good times and the great outdoors but most of all he loved to laugh.
He loved life. A prolific visual artist, Isaac was blessed with the talent to create his characters upon paper and electronic media. Characters, complete with intricacies and nuances, names and alliances would appear and disappear and perhaps re-appear over the years.
Isaac was planning on further honing his skills in hopes of becoming a renowned published cartoonist. An outdoorsman, Isaac was quite comfortable in the forest or upon the water. He spent many hours walking trails with his family and exploring local woods, often enjoying the experience in solitude.
He cherished spending time at the D&R Canal Park, biking and hiking its trails and boating its waters. Isaac felt a connection with the living planet around him, and was eager to interact with it. He would go for walks even on days where most might retreat to the couch; he loved to see the world around him.
Isaac was an accomplished swimmer, traversing unassisted round trip swims across Lake Gaston in North Carolina. He was an avid fisherman, he holds the record for the largest fish caught from our dock (we don’t have a scale, but trust us on this one). Isaac had the ability to charm those he met, with an honest friendliness and polite manner of speaking coupled with an infectious enthusiasm to connect with people.
He had a lot he wanted to share. Isaac was in his Senior year at Crestwood School in Langhorne, PA. He also found employment there, recently being promoted to a new position.
New responsibilities, expectations and privileges were making their way into Isaac’s world, and he was rising to meet many of them. It was a rare gift to know him, and we will miss him until the end of our days. Left in sudden silence, to mourn but celebrate his life are his adoring and proud parents Victoria Roth and Marc Johnson; brother Storm Johnson; grandmothers Lois A. Riter and Dr. A. Patricia Johnson; grandpop Edward Abdusalaam; uncles and aunts Joseph and Ann Roth, Marilyn and Paul Toussaint, Brian Johnson and Antoinette Foster, Major Erik and Lekeisha Johnson; cousins Zachary and Emily Roth as well as Moira, Jasmine, Sean, Michael, Malachi, Maryanna and newborn Erik Isaac Johnson.
Extended family and many friends complete a circle broken by the loss of our beloved son. The family kindly asks visitors to wear tropical colors/themes in Isaac’s memory.
