J. M. Ricketson, age 88, of Denton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday December 5, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Ricketson was born on March 30, 1930 in Broxton, Georgia the son of the late Robert Taft Ricketson and Fannie Louise Lott Ricketson. He was a farmer and a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Mr. Ricketson was preceded in death by his wife, Colline Deen Ricketson. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Carter (Darrell) of Denton, GA and Darlene Minchew (Donald) of Broxton, GA; two sons, Rickey Ricketson (Dede Ann) of Broxton, GA and Marcus Ricketson (Nita) of Broxton, GA; two sisters, Arletha Tate of Denton, GA and Ruby Johnson of Broxton, GA; two brothers, Waymond Ricketson of Broxton, GA and Charles Ricketson of Denton, GA; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018 at 2:00pm at Mt.

Pleasant Baptist (Byrd) Church with Rev. William Pope officiating with Rev. Kenyon Ferrell officiating at the graveside.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1pm until 2pm at the church prior to the service. Congregational songs will be “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden”.
