OBITUARY Jack Burlon Gainer January 21, 1925 – December 4, 2018 Graveside Service for Jack Burlon Gainer, 93, of Huntington will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. Mr. Gainer was born January 21, 1925 in Huntington to the late Addie and W.O. Gainer, and passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Lufkin. Jack was a lifelong resident of Huntington, graduated in 1943 from Huntington High School.

He served in the Navy during World War II. Following his service, he worked the graveyard shift at Texas Foundries for many years. He farmed and had livestock.

His hobbies included gardening, hunting and fishing. Mr. Gainer is survived by his sister in law, Lawanna Gainer of Huntington; nephews, Michael and wife Susan English of Huntington; Frank and wife Renee Gainer of Lufkin. Nieces, Nita Ann and Husband Kenneth Walker of Huntington; Linda and husband Ken Whitton of Bonham; Martha Jo English of Huntington; Pamela Hooton of Huntington; Danette and husband Curtis Shoemaker of Pollok; Joanne and husband Ben Wilroy of Huntington; Jeanette Shoaf Griffin of Austin.

He is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews. Mr. Gainer is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James Walter Gainer, Joe Gainer; sisters, Audrey Gainer, Ruth English and Gem Shoaf. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Bell, Clark Bewley, Eddie Mathews, Will Burks, Michael Bynum, Curtis Shoemaker, Jeff Walker, Ben Wilroy and Chris Bush, Frank Gainer, Kenneth Walker, Ken Whitton and Clayton Duren.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hospice in the Pines 1504 West Frank Ave, Lufkin Texas 75904. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.
