OBITUARY Jack E McKinney June 26, 1941 – November 10, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Jack E. McKinney went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2018 at his home in Lovelady, Texas after a long illness. He was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully. Jack was born June 26, 1941 in Weeches, Texas at his home to Harvey and LaVada McKinney.
He was the youngest of 5 children, Buck, Aldine, Jessie Mae and Betty. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings. He also was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Linda Kay McKinney in 1980 due to a tragic car accident.
Jack graduated from Crockett HS and married Hazel McKinney from Lovelady, Texas on December 24, 1960. They were unseperatable for 57 years. Moving to Houston to make a living as a meat cutter till returning to Lovelady in 1988 to retire.
He loved to hunt and fish, but his passion was his garden and his yard at home as well as at church. Jack also loved to play tinkle can on KIVY and was known as “Lucky Jack”. Jack gave his life to the Lord on July 27, 2008 at Georgia Camp Baptist Church in the Creek community and he was a faithful servant.
He is survived by his wife Hazel McKinney, son Jack McKinney Jr. and daughter, Dianne Tippetts and husband Alva. He had six grandchildren Michael Bird wife Randi with two great grandchildren Aaleah and Maddilyn. Brian Bird married to Sarah with four of his great grandchildren Peyton, Emily, Brenden and Brantley, Barry Bird with two of his great grandchildren, Rocky and Sylus, Jimmy Bird and three of his great grandchildren Jasmine, Aiden and Susie, grandson Kalvin Charles McKinney and granddaughter Misty Michelle McKinney.
Jack loves his family and enjoyed and loved his church family. He will be greatly missed by all. He is now our precious Lord and we will see him once again some sweet day.
There will be a viewing on Friday, November 15, 2018 at Brookside Funeral Chapel in Houston, Texas from 5-8 pm. His funeral will be a t Brookside Funeral Home in Houston, Texas on Saturday, November 17 at 10 am in the Chapel with burial to follow on the grounds at Brookside. We would love for all to attend, if you can’t make the Houston Burial or visitation or if you want to come after the funeral, our church Georgia Camp Baptist in Lovelady will be hosting a meal and Eulogy with singing in his honor at 5 pm Saturday, November 17, 2018.
