Jack F. Manolio passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday December 9, 2018, surrounded by his loving family . Jack was born, May 8, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was the son of John Manolio and Philomena (Ligoure) Manolio and raised by loving step mother Antonette (Donatelli) Manolio.

He was a graduate of Ursuline High School, class of 1950. Jack enjoyed working on his golf game and spending time with friends and family. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and often spoke fondly of his childhood memories growing up in Brier Hill and actively participated in organizing the Brier Hill reunions.

Jack married Mary (Bertrando) Manolio, the love of his life on September 28, 1958. Together the couple had 3 very special children, Jim Manolio, the most special, followed by Annette (Manolio) Delahunty, almost as special, and Anthony Manolio, equally special. (anyone wonder which one of the children wrote this) Jack leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Kristen and Kaitlin Manolio, daughters of Jim and Stacey (Lewis) Manolio of Birmingham, AL, Brittany, Danny and Connor Delahunty, children of Brian and Annette (Manolio) Delahunty of Canfield, Ohio and Alexis Manolio, daughter of Anthony Manolio (fiancé) Lisa Budnik of Boardman, Ohio.

He also leaves behind his sister, Isabel (Manolio) Schiavone and husband Anthony Schiavone, of Boardman with whom he had a very special relationship. Brother Frank Manolio ( Debbie), of Pheonix, AZ, brother-in-law James Bertrando (Debbie) of Struthers, Ohio, and 3 sisters-in-law ,Sylvia (Bertrando) Holderer (Gerhard) of Culver City, CA, Margie (Bertrando) Menduni (late Dr. Albert Menduni) of Tallahassee, FL and Palma Kaneda of Boston, MA Jack and Mary were long standing members of St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman, where Jack regularly served as an usher. Jack worked as the manager of several Sparkle Markets and eventually became an owner/operator of West Side Sparkle Market on Mahoning Avenue.

He worked in the business with his son Anthony Manolio, until he retired in the mid 1990’s. Jack loved working with the public and forged lasting relationships with many of his customers. A Christian Burial Mass and celebration of Jack’s life will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman at 10:00am on Friday December 14, 2018.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown. Friends and family will be able to call an hour prior to the mass at St. Charles Church. Arrangements are being handled by Schiavone Funeral home in Youngstown.
