OBITUARY Jack Kinney Lasseter July 14, 1930 – January 7, 2019 Jack Kinney Lasseter, 88, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Vineville United Methodist Church. Burial will be private for family only in Riverside Cemetery.

Dr. Jimmy Asbell, Dr. Marcus Tripp, and Rev. Grace Guyton will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service in the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Avenue, Macon 31204 or the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon 31204. Mr. Lasseter was born in Buchanan, Georgia the son of the late Marion Moore Lasseter and Horace Shelby Lasseter. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Joe W. Lasseter, his sister, Shellie Lasseter Gantt, and his son, Clinton Shelby Lasseter.

Mr. Lasseter was an Eagle Scout of Troop #23, President of his senior class at Lanier in 1948, received a four year ROTC Navy scholarship, where he attended Duke and graduated in 1952. There he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and was on the basketball and track teams. Mr. Lasseter served on active duty with the United States Navy from 1952-1955 during the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the USS Missouri and the USS Randolph.

He retired as Lieutenant Commander after 22 years in the Naval Reserve. Mr. Lasseter was a Licensed Insurance Agent for 50+ years and retired as Senior Vice-President after 30 years with Fickling & Walker Insurance Agency. He remained active in the insurance business until 2002, retiring as Managing Partner of S.S.K. Insurance Agency.

Mr. Lasseter was a Certified Insurance Counselor. Mr. Lasseter was a member of Vineville United Methodist Church and served in most of the leadership positions at Vineville Methodist and Forest Hills United Methodist Church. He taught youth and adult Sunday School classes for over 50 years, most recently the Ed Cook Class of which he had been a member of since 1991.

Mr. Lasseter was a member of the Exchange Club of Macon since 1964 and served as President from 1970-71 and Board Chairman. He also was President and on the Board of Directors of the Georgia State Fair Association and was named Exchangite of the Year in 1977. Mr. Lasseter was very active within the community, having served on the Board of Directors of the United Way, Central Georgia Chapter.

He was a member of Idle Hour Country Club, the Macon Association of Insurance Agents, the Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia, Bons Hommes Alumni, and served as Scout Master of Troop #120 for 6 years. Mr. Lasseter is survived by his wife, Camille Caskin Lasseter of Macon; daughter, Laine Lasseter Bolton of Macon; son, Lee Carlisle Lasseter (Shana) of Tallahassee; grandson, Marshall Carlisle Lasseter of Tallahassee; daughter-in-law, Laura Hebron Lasseter of Tallahassee; several nieces and nephews; caregiver, Beulah Scott Visit www. snowscs.com to express tributes.
