Jack “Max” Unger, age 80 of McKeesport, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in John J. Kane Regional Center in McKeesport. Born October 22, 1938 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Max and Dorothy (Weinberg) Unger. A US Army Veteran who served in the occupation of Berlin, Max retired after 29 years as a lieutenant with the McKeesport Police Department.

He was also a member of the Croatian Mens Club. Max was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ruth (DePiero) Unger, who passed away June 4, 2014, and his brother Bert Unger. He is survived by his step-daughters Barbara Valalik of Seattle, WA and Adele Gibilsco of Austin, TX, his sister Elaine (James) New of Glenshaw, and his brother Edwin Unger of Los Angeles, CA.

There is no visitation for Max. Friends are invited to a graveside gathering in the chapel at McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery at 1 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Arrangements by the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home, Versailles.
