Jackie’s Obituary Services honoring and remembering the life of Jackie Elaine Rhode will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Claremore First Baptist Church. A committal ceremony will follow at 2:30 PM in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Rice Funeral Service.

Jackie passed away Sunday, May 5th 2019 in Tulsa at the age of 69. Born July 4, 1949 in Tulsa, Jackie was the daughter of Omer Eugene and Mary Elizabeth (Poynor) Jacobs. She was raised in Tulsa and Claremore where she danced competitively throughout her childhood, both tap and ballet.

She made the most important decision in her life when she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior. This changed her life forever. Jackie met Don her freshman year in college at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.

The couple married May 30, 1970 at the First Baptist Church in Claremore. Jackie worked part time as a librarian at the college but spent most of her working life as an amazing wife and mother. Music was always a big part of Jackie’s life.

She started singing at an early age, competing at the local county fairs imitating Brenda Lee. Jackie later developed her own beautiful voice, which she used to sing for the Lord throughout her lifetime. Jackie will be dearly missed by many family and friends who loved her.

Surviving family members include her husband, Don Rhode; her children, Dusty Rhode and his wife, Mistie, and Stoney Rhode and his wife, LynnDee; her grandchildren, Kelsie, Shaelynn, Sunnie Mae, Tara, Rockie, Amelia, and Snowy; her sisters, Johnnie Zacharias and Jo Beth Park-Funkhouser, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Jackie Park.
