Funeral Mass for Jacqueline Anderson will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea, Minn. Father Kurt Farrell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, May 11th at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 E. Main, Albert Lea and again one hour prior to the service at church.

Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea. Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Ann Anderson passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Albert Lea from complications of Parkinson’s disease. She was 81 years old.

Jacqueline Ann was born on January 17, 1937 to parents Chester and Florence Chapman in Saint Paul, Minn. She was baptized at the Cathedral in St. Paul and went through first communion and confirmation at St. Theodore Catholic Church. She attended St. Theodore’s grade school and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955.

She worked at National T Grocery Store as a checker, then at Woolworth’s Dime Store at the lunch counter. On June 16, 1956 she married John Weitzel; to this union a daughter, Patricia (Weitzel) Thies and a son Donald Weitzel were born. John and Jackie were married for 28 years before his sudden passing in 1984.

Then in 1985 she married Cornell ‘Corny’ Anderson for 24 years until his passing in 2009. She worked as a Salvation Army Thrift Store manager from 1985 until 2009. In 2010 Jackie started helping at the Salvation Army Meal site for lunches through 2016 when her health started to decline.

In her free time, Jackie loved to travel with her family and liked to read many books. She was involved with bowling on a mixed league and women’s league until 2016. She was always kind and considerate to anyone she met and will be missed by many in this community.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Thies of Anna, TX; son, Donald (Sandee) Weitzel of McMinnville, TN; step son, LeMoyne (Beth) Anderson of Walters, MN; brothers, Ronald (Ellen) Chapman of Green Bay, WI, Kenneth (Mary) Chapman of Las Vegas, NV, Richard (Sandra) Chapman of Albert Lea, MN; grandchildren, Johnathan (Megan) Weitzel of Manchester, TN, Christopher (Becky) Weitzel of McMinnville, TN, Aubree Weitzel of McMinnville, TN; Joseph (Laici) Anderson of Trenton, NC, Jenniffer Anderson (Christopher) Brekke of Austin, MN, Wendy Anderson of Brownsdale, MN, Anthony ‘Tony’ Anderson of Austin, MN, Cathy Anderson of Austin, MN; 13 great-grandchildren, Andrew Weitzel, Darren Weitzel, Eliza Weitzel, Emma Brekke, Isabel Brekke, Olivia Brekke, Allie Brekke, Madison Brekke, Kyara Anderson, Hailea Anderson, Emilee Anderson, Cole Anderson, Jacob Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Florence Chapman; husbands, John Weitzel and Cornell Anderson; sister, Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Zimmerman; and brother, Thomas Chapman.
