OBITUARY Jaime DeeLon Anderson August 22, 1963 – July 27, 2018 Lake Stevens, WA – Jaime DeeLon Anderson was born in Pipestone, MN on August 22nd, 1963 and passed away July 27th, 2018 after battling pancreatic cancer. At the age of two, she moved to Washington state. As a child, she excelled at academics.
While attending Evergreen High School in Vancouver, WA, she was a strong competitor in track. She was elected to head cheerleader in her first year in high school, and she won Evergreen High School’s top gymnast trophy three years in a row. After graduation, the US Army recruited her for her foreign language skills.
She attended the Defense Language Institute to learn Russian. While attending the school, she met and married Robert Anderson on December 28th, 1982. After serving in active duty, she transitioned to the Navy Reserves and would eventually retire as a Lt.
Commander. She moved to Colorado and graduated from Mesa State in Fall 1991 Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in General Studies in Humanities with an endorsement in Education. Her family moved to Washougal, WA and she became a High School English teacher.
In 1997, her and Rob Anderson divorced, and she moved with her children to Lake Stevens, WA. At this point, she made a career change into business. Starting as a technical writer at Intermec, she advanced within the company, eventually earned her MBA from Columbia College, and managed global supply chains in several companies.
The last position she held was as Director of Global Planning at Itron. She enjoyed problem-solving, working with people, and international travel. Her job took her to Singapore, Mexico City, Budapest, China, Italy, and many more places.
Outside of her career, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Christmas was especially important to Jaime. She was very generous in her gifts and her hospitality.
It was not uncommon for someone outside the family to be invited to a Christmas dinner or other family holiday. She was proud of her military service and strongly supported the Republican party. As a mother, she was very involved in supporting her children in being a mom to the Lake Stevens High School wrestling team and her daughter’s softball teams.
She is very missed by her family, and her time on Earth was too short leaving behind many dreams and aspirations that no doubt she would have achieved. She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Joshua Jenkins Jr She is survived by her mother, Cheryl Anne Jenkins; her siblings Josh Jenkins and Jill Ferguson; and her in-laws Amara Jenkins and Jeremy Ferguson.
She is also survived by her four children Christian, Jessica, Sean, and Jacob; her daughter in-laws Ramona and Teila; her son-in law Stijn Slaats; her six grandchildren Farrell, Evelyn, Anna, Levin, Emilia, and Graham; and her nieces and nephews; Laine, JJ, Jake, Ben, and Ella. A celebration of Jaime’s life will take place on August 3rd, 2018 at 3:00pm at the French Creek Manor, 9931 167th Ave SE, Snohomish, WA 98290.
