Obituary for James Albert Curry Sr Dateline – Laurens, SC James Albert “Ab” Curry Sr., 92, of 1292 Curry Road passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the NHC of Laurens. Mr. Curry was born in Laurens, SC and was a son of the late David P and Nell Childress Curry. Mr. Curry was retired from Laurens Electric Cooperative, he was a member and former deacon of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church; a United States Navy Veteran of WWII and Purple Heart recipient.

He is survived by his wife Betty Jo Weeks Curry; son, Jim Curry and wife, Susan; daughter, Christy Coates and husband, Charlie; grandchildren, Jena Curry, Curry Wilson and husband, Edward; sisters, Nell C. Wix and Martha C. Graydon. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson, Cody Coates and brothers, Dave and Sam Curry. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, burial with Military Honors in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church 1063 Rocky Springs Church Road, Laurens SC 29360 or Laurens Memorial Home 3744 Torrington Rd, Laurens SC 29360. The family will be at the home, 1292 Curry Road, Laurens, SC 29360.
