James Allen Craig, 86, of Paducah, died Wednesday evening, October 31st, 2018 at the Aperion Care Center in Cairo, IL. Jim owned and operated Roth Funeral Chapel in Paducah for many years, and was a funeral director in the Paducah area for over 50 years. Jim was also deputy coroner in McCracken County for several years.

He was a veteran of the US Airforce, a member of 1st Christian Church of Paducah, Lions Club, and the Paducah Ambassadors. Jim also was a Duke of Paducah, a Kentucky Colonel, and an Alben Barkley Distinguished Citizen award recipient. Jim also contributed his time to the Paducah Main Street Board.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Beverly Craig and husband Charles Cornwell of Paducah, one son, Dr. Allen Craig of Tullahoma, TN. ; one brother, Floyd Craig of Sanford, FL. ; four grandchildren, John Craig, James Berry, Madison Craig Berry, and Chandler James Craig Clapp; two great grandchildren, Savannah Ruth Craig, and Tyler Allen Berry; one great great grandchild, Brayden Villalta; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; one son, Eugene Craig; four siblings, Gladys Craig Pittman, Ernest Eugene Craig, Frances Craig Turkington, and Jessie Ada Craig Timms; and his parents, Ernest and Mary Lucille Clark Craig. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, November 4th, 2018 at First Christian Church of Paducah starting at 2pm with Pastor Jamie Eubanks officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday at the church from 1pm until the funeral hour. Burial and military rites will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery in Paducah.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be given to the American Heart Association, St Judes Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. , or the Easter Seals Program of Western Kentucky. Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
