Ruby, SC Mr. James Allen Rainey, age 79, entered into rest on Sunday, January 6, 2019. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Kerrs Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 2980 Kerrs Chapel Rd, Elon, NC. Mr. Rainey was born June 5, 1939 in Elon, NC a son of the late Charlie Virgil “Pete” and Iva Farrar Rainey.

He was a former surveyor with Clifton Keith Surveying. Mr. Rainey enjoyed raising and training horses and enjoyed raising dogs. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by a grandson, Pruitt Rainey.

Survivors include his children, Mitchel Rainey of Ruby, SC, Rinda Riggins of Mebane, NC, and Catina Gordon of Burlington, NC; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Ella Mae (Bo) King of Hall River, NC, and Karen (Mickey) Yeatts of Roxboro, NC. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, SC (www. mrcfuneralhome.com) is serving the Rainey family.
