James B.V. “Bert” Bringe, 84, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in his home. He was born August 19, 1934 in New Kensington, a son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Shannon) Bringe. Prior to retirement he had been a manager for Verizon for 44 years.

He was a Marine Corps veteran serving in Korea after the Korean Conflict. Bert was a member of St. Paul Parish, Greensburg, Bell Telephone Pioneers, Marine Corps League and the Marine Corps Association. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Petrarca and husband Jack. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Teresa P. (Padula) Bringe; three sons, Eric Bringe (Vicki), of Ellicott City MD, Pete Bringe (Kimberly), and Kevin Bringe (Lisa), all of Greensburg; four daughters, Karen Gokay (Mike), of Bernville, Kathy Kutzner (Steve), of Greensburg, Johanna Cycak (Richard), of Cape Coral, Fla. , and Melissa Cappella (Arthur), of Greensburg; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Patricia Sinatra (Charles), of Hilton Head Island, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Bert’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass to be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday at St. Paul Parish, 820 Carbon Rd. , Greensburg.

Please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC.
