Obituary for James C. Campbell James Charles Campbell, age 95 of Conyers, GA, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 15, 2018. Mr. Campbell was born in Abbeville, SC on June 13, 1923 to Curtis Cleon and Helen Bannister Campbell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Simpson Campbell; parents, Curtis and Helen Campbell; brother, Paul Malon Campbell; brother-in-law, Murray Sparrow; and son-in-law, Robert Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Lila Campbell of Conyers, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jimmie and Gary Atwill of Windermere, FL, Julie and Doug Sosebee, Dianne Webb of Conyers, GA, Barrie del Llorens of Pauley’s Island, SC; sister, Beatrice Sparrow of Abbeville, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Jan Campbell of Smyma, GA; sister-in-law, Peggy Rogers of Ninty Six, SC; grandchildren, Leigh Anne and Scott Fischer, Stephanie and Carl Burnham, Valerie and Brad Wilson, Sharon and Jeremy Webb; great-grandchildren, Jenna and Collin Nichols, Mackenzie, Chase and Cate Wilson, Hailey and Madison Burnham, J.T., Malynne and Weston Webb. He served in the military during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. Campbell worked his whole life.

Born on a farm, he began working as a child alongside his parents and siblings. After high school he worked for Shepard Brothers as a heavy equipment operator. After the war he joined Life of Georgia Insurance Company as a salesman.

He continued that career with Colonial Life and Accident Insurance Company until his retirement at age 80. Perhaps his favorite job came after his retirement when he drove cars for Bill Newton Nissan. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel with Vicki Chesney and Rev.

Doug Craver officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.
