Dateline Jasper, IN James C. “Jim” Gunselman, age 68 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 8:28 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana. Jim was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on August 18, 1950 to Clements J. and Anita (Schmidt) Gunselman. He married Belinda “Lindy” Zink on February 19, 1972 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

He was a graduate of the Huntingburg High School Class of 1968. Jim retired as the Office Manager for Hoosier Bandag in Huntingburg after 40 years of service. He also was a co-founder of G-Crew L.L.C. in Jasper.

He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper. Jim was a past president and board member of the Huntingburg Optimist Club, as well as a past member of the Jasper Optimist. He was involved in coaching youth baseball and softball for over 40 years, serving as a coach and board member in the Huntingburg Little League.

He was also a member of the Huntingburg YMI. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on sports fields, coaching youth baseball, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame Football and maintaining his yard. Surviving are his wife, Belinda “Lindy” Gunselman of Jasper, one daughter, Alyssa Smith (Darrell), Louisville, KY, one son, Brady Gunselman (Gwen), Jasper, four grandsons, Nick and Zack Smith, and Cohen and Keaton Gunselman, two sisters, Beth Hassfurther, Florida, Bonnie Eble (Bill), Boonville, two brothers, Lee Gunselman, Evansville, and Rick Gunselman (Malia), Norton, Ohio.

Preceding him in death were his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial for James C. “Jim” Gunselman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church, Friends of Jasper Baseball, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, or Huntingburg Little League. Online condolences may be made at www.
