James Carl’s Obituary Mr. James Carl Jones, Jr., 84, of Blackshear died early Tuesday morning at the Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born in Charlton County near the Traders Hill Community to the late James Carl Jones, Sr., and Martha Agnes Jones. Mr. Jones was the Founder of The Jones Company, Flash Foods, Inc., Walker-Jones Automotive Group and served as PrimeSouth Chairman Emeritus until his death.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Iris Alderman and Lafayne Thomas. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Carole Jones of Blackshear, three children, Jimmy Jones and his wife Laurie of Waycross, Patrick Jones and his wife Kara of Blackshear, Roger Jones of Waycross, seven grandchildren, Mindy Lee, Brandon Jones and his wife Audrey, Jade Jones, Jenna Jones, Ashley Crews and her husband Eric, Amber Roppe and her husband Steven, and Ansley Jones, ten great grandchildren, Llewyn Jones, Ryker Lee, Slade Lee, Logan Lee, Chloe Crews, Isabella Crews, Liam Crews, Cole Roppe, Grey Webb and Alexander Dewitt, a sister, Sylvia Woolard and her husband Clyde of Glennville, Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral service will be held, 3:00 p.m., Thursday at First Baptist Church in Blackshear.

A private family burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, Georgia 31501.
