OBITUARY James Craig Markel May 29, 1946 – December 20, 2018 James C. Markel of White Lake, passed away December 20, 2018 at 72 years of age. Beloved husband of Karen for 48 years. Loving father of Kelly Roy and Jennifer Christopher.

Treasured grandfather of Austin, Madison, Anthony, Nicholas and Andrew. Proud great-grandfather of Allan. Son of Josy Grizzell and Ben Payton.

Brother of Clyde Payton and Maryanne Crampton. He is also survived by his cousin, Dennis Payton and best friends, Chuck, Danny and Vince. Mr. Markel was a Disabled American Veteran who was proud to have served his country in the US Army.

Cremation has take place and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions suggested to the American Cancer Society.
