James’ Obituary James Curtis, Jr. was born September 14, 1955 in Forrest City, Arkansas to the late James Curtis, Sr. and Willie Mae Curtis. James was the ninth of fourteen children, four of whom preceded him in death: Steven, David, Theotis, and Brenda. James professed a hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend J. A. Toney at Salem Baptist Church.

He attended school at Lincoln in Forrest City and Earle High in Earle, Arkansas. He later moved to Cleveland, Ohio and worked for Allord Aluminum. James moved back to Forrest City in 2014 to care for his brother.

James leaves to cherish his memory three children: Kimothy (Angel) Curtis of Murrieta, California, Kourtney Curtis of Riverdale, Georgia, and Cajavian Deere of Atlanta, Georgia; five brothers: Ed (Helen) Dumas of Madison, Arkansas, James Dumas of Forrest City, Arkansas, Donald Curtis of Marianna, Arkansas, Fred (Sherry) Taylor of Arlington, Texas, and James Curtis of St. Louis, Missouri; seven sisters: Minnie (Hershel) Hall of Bedford Heights, Ohio, Annie Barton of Forrest City, Arkansas, Marilyn (John) Mathis of Jennette, Arkansas, Sandra Curtis of Forrest City, Arkansas, Connie Edwards of Detroit, Michigan, Johnnie (Wayne) Willerford of Memphis, Tennessee, and Emma Jackson of Decatur, Illinois; five grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends to celebrate his homegoing.
