Obituary for James D. Freel Jr. James “Jim” D. Freel, Jr., 49, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2018, in the comfort of his own home. Jim was born on September 4, 1969, in New Hartford, the son of James Sr., and Lynda (Fitzgerald) Freel. He was a graduate of UFA and was a machine operator at Stark Truss, Whitesboro.

Jim was an avid guitar player and an antique car enthusiast. He was proud of his Irish heritage and was a true Irishman. Jim was known as a jokester, and enjoyed watching football, camping, the great outdoors and spending time with his family, they meant the world to him.

He is survived by his father, James D. Freel, Sr., Utica; the love of his life, his fiancée, Debra Peppenelli and her children, Kenneth and Danielle, Utica; brother, Paul (Heather) Freel, Rome; nieces and nephews, Brandon Cruikshank, Alex Freel, and Kaylee Freel along with many friends. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Lynda. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd.

, Utica. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt.

Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Jim’s name may be made to the American Heart Association at www. heart.org.
