OBITUARY James D. Stewart June 6, 1930 – January 27, 2019 James D. Stewart, age 88, of Houston, Texas peacefully passed away on Sunday January 27, 2019. James was born June 6, 1930 in Blevins, Arkansas to Thomas and Estella Stewart. Dwight is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 69 years, Juanez Stewart, and his siblings; Charlene Shauble, Pauline Wade, and Aubrey Stewart.

He is survived by his two sons; Keith (Cathy) and Kevin Stewart; four grandchildren; Melissa Klecka (Bryan), Michelle Stewart, Gino Stewart, and Nico Stewart; and one great-grandchild; Finley. Dwight graduated from Blevins High School in 1947. He received a Medal of Honor while serving in the Korean War and received an honorable discharge on May 19, 1960.

He will also receive a Presidential Gold Certificate for his service. In January, 1955 he began a long career managing the Texas Commerce Bank Parking Garage in Downtown Houston. He was a member and Past Master Mason of the Masonic Holland Lodge #1.

He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Scottish Right and also received a 50 year recognition with them. He was a Shriner and had been a member of the Golden Wheels Motorcycle organization up until they disbanded but continued being a member of the Shriners. After his retirement Dwight enjoyed volunteering with the Food Pantry and also transported many friends to doctor appointments, the airport, etc.

for ones that were unable to drive themselves. Dwight and Juanez were very involved and dedicated members of the Westbury Church of Christ. But what Dwight loved the very most was his family and spending time fishing and visiting at their place in Hawg Heaven on Lake Livingston.

Dwight and family also spent many a summer water skiing and tubing on Lake Travis. Dwight also loved riding his 1947 Panhead Harley Motorcycle and taking trips with his wife, son and friends on his Honda Goldwing Motorcycle. A visitation for James will be held Monday, February 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with the interment to follow in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www. ForestParkLawndaleFH.com for the Stewart family.
