OBITUARY James Doyle Brown April 20, 1928 – January 16, 2019 Doyle was born on April 20, 1928 in Payne Springs, Texas to parents Gideon Watson and Lena (Pelham) Brown. Doyle passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 at the age of 90 with his youngest Son at his side. Doyle was the son of share croppers and went to work on the Cotton Belt Rail Yard in Tyler Texas at the age of 12, next he began his career he began his as a Lineman with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 20 years.

During this time, he met the love of his life Alouise Sorrel and they married on April 19, 1948 and had three sons. Doyle always loved farming and developing land. He was the Administrator of the Bedford Boys Ranch, a full scale working poultry and dairy farm and ranch that was owned by the Assembly of God Church whose seminary Doyle had graduated from in Waxahachie Texas.

Together Doyle and his wife Alouise had three sons founded two churches; one in Tyler in 1959 and the other in Colleyville in 1968. In 1975 he formed a retail corporation that was owned and operated as Brown’s Western Wear. Doyle sold real estate for a time and always farmed.

He was always working on things or building something. Doyle loved square dancing and traveling with his wife Alouise. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Mabank as well the Rotary Club.

Doyle will be missed by all who knew and loved him as he was a pillar of the community and proud to be a fifth generation of pioneers who homesteaded nearby in 1853. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alouise Brown in 2010, sons; David Mark Brown and James Max Brown, 1 brother and 5 sisters. He is survived by his son John Brown and wife Patty of Spring, grandchildren; John Michael Brown of Spring and Clinton James Brown and wife Laura of Cedar Park, daughters-in-law Sherree Brown and Lisa Brown as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other loving family members and m any more lifelong friends.
