Obituary for James E. Alligood Jr Mr. James E. Alligood Jr., age 82, of Eastman died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Serenity Place in Dublin. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 in Andersonville National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Alligood was born June 8, 1936 in Chauncey, Georgia to the late Mary Will Wright and James E. Alligood. He was a member of New Daniels Baptist Church and a retired U.S. Army Green Beret.

While serving in the Army, he was a command Sgt. Maj. , serving two tours in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.

He later retired from Robins AFB. He is survived by three children, Jimmy Alligood (Nanette) of Ft. Valley, Ga.

, Diane Stuckey of Eastman, Ga. , and Melanie Alligood of Layton, Utah; five grandchildren, James Alligood (Jessica), Kayce Unsworth (Bennett0, Kristin Hester, Kelly Harrell, and Tom Harrell; six Great Grandchildren. The family can be reached at the home of his daughter, Diane Stuckey.
