Obituary for James Earl Cassell Rev. James Earl Cassell, age 84, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Friday (March 8, 2019) in a Lebanon, Virginia hospital. Born October 28, 1934 in Honaker, Virginia, he was a son of the late Charlie and Sallie Gibson Cassell.

A lifelong resident of the area, he was a graduate of Honaker High School. An ordained minister with the Church of God, he had pastored several area churches and had a radio broadcast “Revival Time Ministries” until his health declined. He was a retired law enforcement officer with over twenty years of service working for the Town of Lebanon and the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bradley Scott Cassell and Charles Allen Cassell. Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Joann Cassell; one grandson, Brandon Cassell and wife, Courtney; one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Cassell; and one sister, Shelby Jean Blankenship. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev.

Brandon Cassell and Rev. Monte Elswick officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.
