Obituary for Mr. James Earl Tyson James Earl Tyson, 76, of Durham, North Carolina, succumbed to prostate cancer at the Hock Family Pavilion Hospice facility on Friday morning November 16, 2018. Born February 8, 1942, in Farmville North Carolina, he was the son of the late Frederick Fields and Andora Tyson. Jim is survived by one son, Derek Tyson (Charlotte, NC), one sister, Annie May Tyson (Farmville, NC), an uncle, Linwood “Bud” Tyson (Farmville, NC) and numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Peace Missionary Baptist Church, at 12:00 noon, with a family visitation one hour prior to the service. Jim will be laid to rest at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. located at 202 Government Rd, Salisbury, N.C. 28144 on Friday, November 23 at 9:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NCCU Foundation, Inc. P.O. Box 52466, Durham, NC 27717, in his name.
