James Edward Melton age 85, of Sweetwater passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving as military police during the Korean War. James was a loving father, grandfather, and devoted husband of 45 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Melton, parents, James and Helen Melton. He is survived by his sons, James Lee Melton and Mark Edward Melton, daughters, Juanita Leigh Melton and Autumn Miracle Melton all of Sweetwater. Grandchildren, Kayla and Taylor Melton, Anna Belle Mincey, Jesinia Baker and Samuel Primm, sisters, Sue Hogsed and Shelva Stephens of Sweetwater, niece, Mary Taylor of Sweetwater.

The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Sweetwater Memory Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 10:00 in Sweetwater Memorial Park. Sweetwater Memory Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
