James Eugene Akridge, 72, of Cotton died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 22 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wynn officiating.

Born September 15, 1946 in Grady County, GA, Mr. Akridge was the son of the late Charlie Wilburn Akridge and Odean Taylor Akridge. He was a member of Lake Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Akridge was owner and operator of JZJ Sweeping Company.

He was preceded in death by two… Read More » sons, Tony Akridge and James E. Akridge, Jr., a brother, Jona L. Akridge, and a sister, Patsy M. Jones. Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Woodruff (Wade) of Hartselle, AL and Rhonda Steel of Hartselle, AL; two sons, Zac Akridge of Atlanta and Shane Cato of Atlanta; sister, Dianne Monk of Cairo; brother, DeLeon Akridge (Sammie) of Cotton; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will follow services, Monday, at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in Camilla.

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
