James Fredrick Monical 90, of Mooresville, passed away April 16, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. James was born on January 24, 1928 in Brooklyn, Indiana to the late William B. Monical and Mary (Lang) Monical. James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in World War II.

“The Favorite Uncle” to his nieces and nephews; he will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor and always helping people repair or learn to repair anything mechanical. Daily his focus was one good deed for someone in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife; Bethel Goldman Monical, a sister; Alice J. Brackney and a brother; William B. Monical Jr

He is survived by his wife Carla Kay Monical of Mooresville, a daughter; Joanie (Monical) Hensley of Plainfield, a brother; R. Duane Monical of Noblesville, a grandson; Cody J. Fox and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Visitation will be held Friday from 4-8pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville and from 9:30am until the service at 10:30am on Saturday at the Brooklyn Christian Church 7 S. Church St. Brooklyn, IN 46111. Burial with military honors, will follow the services in Monical Cemetery, Brooklyn, IN.
