James G. Rhodes Midlothian, VA – James G. Rhodes, 90, of Midlothian, formerly of Keyser, devoted husband, father, and grandfather went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2019. Born August 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Thomas E. Rhodes and Alice M. (Combs) Rhodes. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth E. (Beckman) Rhodes of 56 years.

Jim was a retired operator for the B&O Railroad and a Veteran who served in the Army from 1954 – 1956 during the Korean War Conflict. He enjoyed feeding and watching the deer and squirrels. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Surviving is his daughter, Sharon Hoover and husband Donald of Midlothian, Virginia. He is also survived by one grandson, Adam Hoover of Glen Allen, Virginia and his girlfriend, Arielle Vergales, also of Glen Allen, Virginia. Also surviving are three sisters, Charlotte Carr of Swanton, MD, Judi Rhodes of Keyser, WV, and Modena Turney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, WV, on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted immediately following the visitation with Pastor Vickie Minnich officiating.
