James H. Day, age 79, of Wilmington, passed Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Born in Sabina on July 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Corwin and Mary (Anderson) Day. Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce (Shoemaker) Day; the two were married April 10, 2010.

A 1956 Sabina High School graduate, Jim served in the United States Air Force. He later retired, as a lineman, from CGE. Jim was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed assisting in coaching sports.

He was also a Mason out of the Mt. Healthy Lodge; and spent many of his later years as a resident in Venice, Florida. Jim is survived by his sons: Mark Day of Florida and Scott (Tammie) Day of Williamsburg.

Also left to cherish his memory are step-sons: Kevin (Jackie) Smith of Wilmington and Mark (Susan) Smith of Kentucky; along with brothers: Bob Day of Sabina and Gary (Judy) Day of Xenia; and sister in-law, Betty Day of Florida. Jim is preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Day, and a brother, Ronald. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.

Services for Jim will be private, at the convenience of the family. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
