Mr. James Harold Clements, 89, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 30, 1929 in Kershaw, a son of the late Maxie Leroy Clements, Sr. and Katherine “Kate” Melissa Hasty Clements. Mr. Clements was a member and Elder at Wade Memorial Presbyterian Church.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A US Navy Veteran, he had retired from Belk’s Department Store with 36 years of service. He loved talking on his CB Radio and selling cars.

He was a life member of Jackson Masonic Lodge # 53 and member of the Stafford Graham American Legion Post 31. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Clements will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wade Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mr. Clements is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Hope Clements; a daughter, Catherine Clements Bauknight of Pasadena, California; a brother, Dennis “Jerry” Clements and his wife Dianna of Lancaster; a grandchild, Danone Ryan Bauknight and his wife Bente of Norway; three great grandchildren, Emma Bauknight, Nikolai Bauknight and Hannah Bauknight; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clements was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklyn Clements, Kenneth Jack Clements and Maxie Clements, Jr.; and four sisters, Doris Duncan, Myrtle Clements, Margaret Blackmon and Sue Isaacs.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Wade Memorial Presbyterian Church and other times at the home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Mr. Clements.
