Obituary for James Harold Patton James “Sonny” Harold Patton went home to be with his Lord on December 19, 2018 at the age of 86. He was born on July 2, 1932 in McCamey, Texas to R.D. and Leona Patton. He was married to his wife Shirley “Deannie” Patton for 50 years until Deannie’s passing in 2001.
Sonny served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He and Deannie owned and operated Patton’s TV in Fresno. They enjoyed their retirement years travelling the country in their motorhome and being the best Papa and Nano ever to their grandchildren.
Sonny attended First Missionary Baptist Church and loved his church family. Later in his life, Sonny married Phyllis, his wife of 15 years. Sonny was preceeded in death by his wife Deannie, son Paul, grandson Shawn and siblings Billy Jean, Netta, Weenie, Richard, and Bobby.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis, his sisters: Annie (Angel) Ramirez and Sue Pounds. His children: Harold Patton, Randy Patton, Shelly (Gary) Dilley. Grandchildren: Amber (Brian) Russell, Andrea (Mike) Carabajal, LeAnna (Chuck) McAllister, Gary (Annette) Dilley, Landon (Kelly) Patton, Jessica (Jayson) Gerkin.
Great Grandchildren: Hannah, Lillian, Nicholas, Nathanial, Lauren, Bradley, Marissa, Eli, Bryce, Mark, Boede, Lane, Brayden, Blake, Abigayle, Jeremiah and Jaxon. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at Chapel of the Light on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. A military committal service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of James Harold Patton please visit our Sympathy Store.
