Obituary for James I. Hally James I. Hally (Jim), 82, of Philadelphia died peacefully surrounded by those who loved him on June 13, 2018. Jim is the beloved husband of Rosemary Hally (Molloy), brother of Patrick (Mary), Alice, the late Maurice, and William (Kathleen). Jim has many nieces, nephews, former students, and friends in the US, Ireland, and elsewhere who will miss him dearly.

Born in Kilkenny (Ireland), Jim’s life of service began when we was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1960 for the Diocese of Camden, NJ where he taught for many years at Holy Spirit High School in Absecon, NJ. Jim married his true love, Rosemary in 1990. He shared his abundant blessings with the youth of Camden while teaching in the Camden City Public Schools until his retirement in 2006.

Jim continued his life of service faithfully volunteering at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Camden. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors with the Center for Environmental Transformation also located in Camden. There are few who have Jim’s level of humility, passion, and drive to serve the poor or powerless.

Jim lived a life that was a great example to all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (1739 Ferry Ave, Camden, NJ 08104) for Visitation on Thursday June 21st 2018 at 10AM. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jim’s extraordinary life follows at 11AM.
