James J. Mullins, 92, of Carlisle Township passed away Friday September 7, 2018 at his home. He was born March 27, 1926 in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, PA. and was a Carlisle Township resident since 1990, coming from North Olmsted.

James graduated from Chartiers High School in 1943 and enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17, serving in W.W.II. He started the varsity wrestling team at Bucknell University where he was also a MAC champion in wrestling, coached and was undefeated… Read More » in his weight class. He graduated college in 1948.

Jim owned Mullins Jewelry in Cleveland for over 30 years and Carlisle Golf Course for over 40 years. He was a member of the Elyria Elks Lodge 465, Moose Lodge 778 and Oberlin V.F.W. Post 6273. Survivors include his children James (Nancy) Mullins, Carlene (John) Bagola, Jeff (Jane) Mullins and Annette (Rich) Scott; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.

He was also blessed to have Ethel Heiser in his life for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Helen “Betty” (nee-Paulot), 1 sister and 5 brothers. The family will receive friends Sunday September 16, 2018 for a memorial visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.

Fr. Allan R. Laubenthal will Officiate. Following services Military Honors will be conducted by members of the V.F.W. Post 9871 at the funeral home.
