James “Jim”‘s Obituary James H. Dallas, 88, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Carriage Crossing, Arcola, IL surrounded by his loving family after suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for 13 years. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Burial with military graveside rites accorded will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the funeral home. Jim was born on March 3, 1931 in Fairfield, IL, the son of James Harrison and Anna Elizabeth Troutt Dallas. He married the love of his life, Helen L. Eastin on February 2, 1951 in Tuscola, IL.

She survives. Also surviving are his children: Debbie (Steve) Harris, Rick and special friend (Vicky), Brenda Mumma, Jack (Jane) Dallas and Pam (Mark) Maxey, 12 grandchildren: Josh Harris, Kim Harris Hacker, Cody Dallas, Chelsea Dallas Cravens, Misty Mumma Nelson, Robin Mumma Duitsman, Kristin Mumma Stratten, Travis Dallas, Austin Dallas, Kylee Dallas, Matt Dean and Wil Maxey and 14 great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Seth Dallas, Fred Dallas, Bill Dallas and Albert Troutt, sisters: Dorothy Merritt, Lucille Musgrave and Agnes Helen Dallas, daughter-in-law: Linda Dallas and son-in-law: John Mumma.

He graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1949. He then served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. He worked at USI Chemical Company for 13 years and retired after 42 years of being a farmer.

He was an avid fan and loved watching Tuscola Warrior’s sports, very rarely missing a game and also loved watching his grandchildren activities. He enjoyed tractor pulling and was a member of the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association. Jim liked to fish and race go-carts.

Memorials are suggested to Harbor Light Hospice or Tuscola Pow-Wow’s.
