James “Jim” H. Johnston, age 75 of Forest Lake, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at his home. Jim was born August 13, 1942 in Glenwood Township, Wisconsin, the son of Howard and Anna (Warner) Johnston. Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Elrod on October 1, 1964 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa.

He was a successful dairy farmer and found himself often reminiscing of the days on the farm. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joseph Johnston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Catherine Elrod. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Pat; son, Tim; former daughter-in-law, Billie; grandchildren, Ashley (Nick Sharpo), Brendan; great-grandchildren, Markie, Harley; his cat, Mike; siblings, JoAnn Burri, Edith Woodstock, Betty Lou Fisher, Howard, Kathleen Olson; siblings-in-law, Wayne Richard (Patsy), Dennis, Kathy, Philip, Robert (Marlys), Catherine Nedland, Mary (Kendall) Christiansen; uncle, Allen (Ardis) Warner; beloved friend, Bernie Hubbard; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
